Metaphor in Supervision
Vávrová, Lenka ; Havrdová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Valenta, Milan (referee)
The thesis on Metaphor in supervision is divided into two parts. The first theoretical part deals with metaphor in the linguistic level, its semantic level and then the use of metaphor in supervision. As it turns out, metaphor is often conceived as a phenomenon, as an image, or as a grasp of a person's intrapsychic processes. Metaphor itself is often described by metaphor and we can easily get into a vicious spiral. It is the theoretical part of the thesis that takes us out of this spiral, capturing and anchoring the abstraction of metaphor in the real world. The exploration of metaphor has taken the form of a qualitative research methodology, specifically using IPA. The research investigation involved 11 research participants who were purposively selected based on criterion sampling. The research strategy included the necessary self-reflection by the researcher and in the initial stage of working with the data through deconstruction of the text. In the data analysis we can find first the pre-research and then the actual codification associated with direct quotations. This is first sorted into a clear table for better orientation. The discussion then focuses on answering the main research aim that was met and the research questions. These are answered in the form of a kind of sub-chapter when we...

Interviews were cunducted with eight informants, trasncribed into Microsoft Word and then devided into five clusters. The research revealed that the public has experience with supervisors, therapists and mediators, but is unaware of these professionals working without the necessary qualifications. The research further revealed that qualifications are imporatnt to the professional public and they would not use the services of a professional who did not demonstrate their qualifications. It was also found that, according to the professional public, insufficient qualifications can affect the outcome of a contract, but sufficient qualifications can also affect the outcome. This thesis can be used to inform the work of supervisors, therapists and mediators. Furthermore this thesis could be used as educational materiál. Last but not least, this thesis could be used to extend the research to other regions.

Supervision of Social Workers within Authority for Social and Legal Protection of Children
ROHOVÁ, Andrea
Supervision is perceived in the helping professions primarily as a support tool, which tries to help increase the quality of work of employees and thus improves the overall quality of the service. Supervision should provide workers an overview of the situation and the ability to reflect on their own work, which can prevent occupational burnout. The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyse and describe the implementation of supervision, including possible risks, within Authority for Social and Legal Protection of Children. Qualitative research was chosen to achieve the goal of the empirical part of the work. The method of questioning and two techniques - semi-controlled and uncontrolled interview - were used to collect data. Data categorization and clustering method were chosen for data analysis. The analysis of the data revealed that social workers consider supervision as an important part of their profession, but the perception of supervision itself does not relate to the benefits of their supervision meetings. It takes place under the leadership of an external supervisor in the form of team case supervision, which usually takes place once every two months between two and four hours during working hours. The presence of management or a coalition between the supervisor and the supervisee is considered to be the greatest risk. Supervisors themselves perceive the benefits of their supervision in sharing cases related to the creation of a safe open environment. They also consider the coalition to be the main risk, but also the undue emotional commitment of the supervisor or the intersection of supervisor roles. This diploma thesis can serve as an informative material for social workers who provide social and legal protection of children, but also for students studying in the field of social work. For supervisors, as well as management and staff, the work could be meant as an inspiration for what they could improve and streamline in supervision.
